Our history begins way back in 1955, when Webb Air Force Base Federal Credit Union (that was our name then) first opened its doors. Webb Air Force Base Federal Credit Union was chartered to serve the employees and the family members of Webb Air Force Base here in Big Spring, Texas. After the base closed, our charter was converted into a community credit union. At that time, in 1978, we also changed our name to Citizens Federal Credit Union.

Today, the field of membership of Citizens Federal Credit Union is based on a common bond of people; this field of membership includes anyone that lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school in Howard, Borden, Glasscock and Midland County, Texas as well as their immediate family members and business and other legal entities located therein.

Citizens Federal Credit Union is not a bank. We're a progressive, full-service financial institution. We provide quality service as a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned and democratically controlled by its membership. That means we're owned and run by our members to benefit our members. And we are guided by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and volunteer committees.

Over the years we have grown from $110.00 in total assets to almost $89 million, and many of the ways we do business have changed as well. But we still believe that friendly, personal service to our members is our number one priority. Our focus is on developing a long-term relationship with you by offering you great service and great products. And according to the feedback we are getting from our members, we do an outstanding job in serving our members.

With a great staff, strong management team, and visionary board of directors we are able to insure our future by offering great loan programs, no annual fee credit cards, no minimum balance checking accounts, high yield certificates, $350,000 in deposit insurance, and much more.
